We aim to address the needs and interests of learners of all ages, because there is no time in our lives when we lose the ability or need or right to learn ... ... to learn for our own personal growth, for the enrichment of our minds and of our lives ... to learn new skills that will not only bolster our self-esteem and sense of personal worth, but also enable us to participate more actively, wisely and generously in the societies to which we belong ... to learn about other people, other times, other countries, other cultures, other ways of living and being, that can nurture in us a sense of wonderment and humility and understanding.	... a community An important part of our mission and purpose is to create a specialised, comprehensive and intuitively navigable learning resource center that brings together on a single 'virtual campus' as complete a collection of learning resources as possible. We hope to provide both teachers and learners with the most useful, most relevant learning resources they will find anywhere on the Internet. And we can only achieve this with your participation. We therefore want to think of you, not as 'users', but as 'members' and 'collaborators' ... In fact, we want you to think of yourselves as members of an active learning community who, in the spirit of 'mutual aid', can offer your experience and insights for the benefit of others in the community. And in that way everyone gains!
